Located near the traditional Kollengode palace, this residence has been designed for a non-resident Keralite couple. The intent was that the house be climatically responsive even during the peak months of summer. The entryway features a cascading water court flanked by planters. The prayer space can be seen in a vista from the entry. The ambience of the recessed drawing space is enhanced greatly due to the incorporation of architectural component such as the water court. The family living is a raised platform creating a semi-private cozy space. A deck space is provided to the opposite of the family living. The dining space is further highlighted by another deck space, a sky-lighted courtyard and a bay window that overlooks a garden space. To the right of the bay window is the kitchen and work area and to the left is a bedroom with walk-in-wardrobe space leading to the attached en-suite. A breakfast counter is provided within the sky-lighted courtyard. The numerous courts, water court and decks provided induces a micro-climate that ensures the house maintains a cool environment at all times. The first floor comprises of a family living space with a reading nook that overlooks the court below and a bedroom. The terrace space has been designed to accommodate roof garden.
