PRINCIPLE ARCHITECT

Ms. Surya Prasanth, a conservation architect by training, received her Masters from the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi – an institution of national importance in 2005. Her initial training in architecture has instilled in her the acumen for detailing which manifests in the designs of the projects handled by her. She was the recipient of the ‘Designer of the Year’ award in 2017 in the Interior Design category. Her design sensibilities are aided by her sensitive approach of ‘design-rooted-in-the-context’. This results in design projects which are unique in terms of its spatial and functional experiences. Her award winning practice, Mudbricks has been actively involved in projects of varying scales and geographies.

Surya has been the editor of Archwindow, the official magazine of the IIA Kerala Chapter. Her works have been published in various journals and books.

Her research proposal for the conservation of the historic precinct of Brahmaswam Madom, has been widely appreciated for its socio-historic significance. She is also actively involved in independent research on documenting the historic buildings of the Malabar coast and the erstwhile port of Muziris, an important trading port in the spice and silk routes of the medieval era.
