Mudbricks is an award-winning design practice with a special focus on the realms of architecture, conservation and interiors. The practice is headed by Ar. Surya Prasanth. Since its inception in 2010, Mudbricks has been a design laboratory of creative ideas which challenge the existing notions of design. The firm has been actively involved in design and coordination for projects of varying scales. The firm’s portfolio includes both privately commissioned green field entities as well as socially relevant architectural conservation projects. Their works have been widely published in both local as well as national media.
Ar. Surya Prasanth, a Conservation architect, received her Masters from the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi – an institution of national importance. She has an acumen for detailing, instilled in her by her initial training, which manifests in the designs of the projects handled by her. She was the recipient of the ‘Vanitha Veedu Architecture Award’ in 2017 in the Best Interior Design category. Her design sensibilities are aided by her sensitive approach of ‘design-rooted-in-the-context’. This results in design projects which are unique in terms of its spatial and functional experiences. Ar. Surya has been the editor of Archwindow, the official magazine of the IIA Kerala Chapter. Her works have been published in various journals and books.
